Learning Curriculum
Let’s Grow, Play, Create.
Root Connection is a learning space open to anyone interested in igniting and developing their human potential.
Our logo expresses our guiding principles for what we’re doing when we come together; growing, playing, creating.
It is made of three elements: the sprout, the downward pointing triangle, and the whole circle that contains them both.
🌱
The sprout represents our ability to grow constantly.
Our human life transforms from the moment we are born. We have within us the design to grow out of what we once were and become something new.
This happens for everyone, moving from youth to teen to adult and finally, to death. Growth is a natural process that can beckon us beyond the confines of habits and past conditioning.
Asking ourselves if we are growing is the first thing we look for.
🟡
The circle represents the wholeness of being human and the play we can experience when we rest in our true nature.
When we see and experience ourselves as an integrated whole, rather than something fundamentally broken, we can play with our life’s potential and our circumstances with humor and curiosity.
Play brings us into direct contact with a natural expression beyond the bounds of self-consciousness.
Asking ourselves if we are playing is the second thing we look for.
🔻
The downward pointing triangle represents our ability to create in every moment.
Life is fluid and changing. When we open up to grow and to play in our daily life, we also come into contact with what we can create.
We don’t have to measure ourselves up next to anyone else as a meter for success. We can free ourselves by opening up to the moment as the blank canvas that it is.
Asking ourselves if we are creating is the third thing we look for.
The Tools:
Body, Mind, Voice.
Paired with our logo-learning model are three essential tools to use to awaken and establish yourself: Body, Mind, Voice.
Connecting with the body allows us to ground in the present moment. The body lives in the now, not the past or future, and keeps us rooted in what is unfolding right here. The body is our home of health and vitality. Caring for the body is the path of caring for our life.
Connecting with the mind puts us in touch with the subtle realms of what we cannot see yet impacts us greatly. The mind is a vast network of communication, expressing through mental, emotional, and energetic waves. Going inward to work directly with the mind allows us to take responsibility for it so we can learn how to navigate it and clean it up.
Connecting with the voice lets us share sound with others. By using the voice we are able to say what we want and need. Voice opens up the possibility of stating, of singing, of communicating, of connecting beyond intellectual process.
Root Connection assists you in making contact with your body, your mind, and your voice in every moment. These tools become opportunities of ongoing learning and growth. By continuing to engage with body, mind, and voice, you can empower yourself to live fully.
The Process: Communication, Relation, Transformation.
Our learning model (grow, play, create) combined with the tools (body, mind, voice) gives us direct access to exploring and clarifying our life. We can fully participate in a human process that continues to develop and expand us.
Through the process of communication, relation, transformation, we can learn a lot about ourselves. Much of our personal pain and frustration is a sign of stuck communication and strong conditioning. By engaging with our communication directly, we can see what is working and what is not working for us, giving us the opportunity to transform patterns and ways of being.
With awareness, we have the ability to choose something new. We can communicate fresh possibilities, we can rewire old conditioning, we can take our lives into our own hands and be fully human.
None of us can live healthy lives isolated from the whole. Our life requires communicating and relating with others. Through this constant process of communication and relation, we can experience transformation.
Communication is a basic building block for experiencing ourselves and each other. Communication happens internally between various operating systems we contain and beliefs we hold. Are we aware of all that’s happening with us? Have we taken a closer look at what kind of communication we have learned?
As children we sponge up environments, feeling tones, and beliefs of those around us. By facing inward with our attention, we can see how we experience and express communication.
To learn how to communicate honestly and clearly, one must be aware of the body, the mind, and the voice. One must take responsibility to look inside if they want to evolve how they communicate.
Relation is a two way street that communication can facilitate. The quality of how we relate to another involves how we relate to ourselves. Often, what we experience within is what we express out. Through our words and in connection to other people, we have the chance to grow, play, and create together.
Relationships can be refreshing and enjoyable if we are aware of what we bring to them. Relationships require responsibility of inner awareness and presence. With a commitment to cleaning up our communication, our relations can become an expression of that joyful presence as well.
Transformation emerges from simply choosing to participate consciously in communication and relation. When we are aware of the transformative potential that exists within us, we can branch out and see our interactions with others as catalysts. Connecting with people becomes enriching for our lives, challenges and all. We begin to see how expanding outside of ourselves invites a tremendous opportunity. Together, we can grow, play, create. Together, we can communicate, relate, transform. We can experience ourselves, the body, the mind, and the voice, as stellar ways to live fully in our day-to-day lives.
Beyond Me, Becoming We.
Beyond Me, Becoming We is a way of life, a flow of us all emerging and evolving through living itself.
As we grow, we go beyond our preceding norms and our consciousness increases. We begin to transcend challenges that kept us stuck and feel new possibilities lay before us.
As we evolve, we are not leaving behind older parts, rather, we’re including them as we grow along.
Our ability to transcend limitations and develop furthering capacities is part of our evolution journey.
We begin as a seed in our mother’s womb and along the way we become a person with nuances and gifts to offer the world.
Beyond Me, Becoming We is a call to embrace our whole humanity with its varied perspectives and ways of expressing what feels most valuable.
We practice embracing and including everything to be a part of the whole and hold it in our awareness.
This is a big ask and yet, as human beings with immense potential, we can meet this ask if we so desire.
We are moving toward realities and ways of being that are local and global at once. We are living digitally and, we are so very fleshy.
Beyond Me, Becoming We is an invitation to move beyond the dual of either/or, warring thinking and instead, to open up to a both/and, inclusive way of experiencing oneself and the whole of humanity.
We are operating in personal levels of “me” and in collective levels of “we” in each moment. We can learn to integrate this vast understanding into our perception and live more beautifully because of it.
